Even given Virginia State Senator Amanda Chase’s long history of extremism, this latest from her – early this morning calling on Trump to “declare martial law as recommended by General Flynn”– might very well be the most unhinged thing she’s ever advocated. And that’s coming from an individual who has also is a COVID-denying, COVID-superspreading, ERA-demonizing, “white history”-defending 2021 Virginia Republican gubernatorial candidate who recently claimed – falsely, of course – that Indigenous People’s Day is “a fraud pushed by pseudo-communists intent on destroying our country!”; who bizarrely asserted that “It’s those who are naive and unprepared that end up raped”; who said “I Call My Revolver My Little Equal Rights Amendment” and “The ERA Amendment is nothing more than a ploy by the left to eliminate gender altogether”; etc. The big question is whether the Virginia GOP is cool with having someone who wants to overthrow our country’s democracy compete for their gubernatorial nomination. If so, that tells us all we need to know about them…
